Bluetooth V5.4 Dual Mode — LE Audio Sink / Auracast™ Receiver.
Description
The FMB121 is a dual‑mode, Class 1 Bluetooth® V5.4 module designed as an LE Audio sink. It receives audio over LE Audio or classic Bluetooth (A2DP) and outputs to your system via I2S, USB or analog—ideal for headphones, speakers, sound bars, hearing‑assist receivers and embedded designs.
Auracast™ receiver: FMB121 can discover and join public or private LE Audio broadcast streams (BMR), enabling one‑to‑many listening scenarios in spaces such as airports, classrooms, stadiums, gyms and bars. Users can select a broadcast by name or QR code (via your host/app), and the module handles stream setup and synchronization.
LE Audio unicast roles are supported for private listening and two‑way use cases: Unicast Music Receiver (UMR) with Gaming mode, and Call Terminal (CT). For compatibility with legacy devices, FMB121 also works as a classic Bluetooth A2DP receiver with optional low‑latency codecs.
Supported codecs include SBC and LC3 for LE Audio, plus Qualcomm aptX® family (aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Adaptive Lossless) for high‑quality music and gaming with compatible sources. The module integrates a full stack and on‑board DSP, and is controlled via simple ASCII commands over UART/USB (enumerates as a virtual COM port on Windows/Mac/Linux). We provide iOS/Android libs to simplify device control, pairing, broadcast selection and firmware updates.
